Within the East Ayrshire community, there are many people who struggle financially to cope over what should be a loving and caring season for all. At St Mathew's Church, there is a food bank needing some extra hands to help package and distribute food to recipients. From my own experience of helping at the food bank, I have learned that even helping one person in need makes a huge difference to them. To help join in, all you need to do is go to St Mathew's Church on a Tuesday or Thursday (which ever suits you or even both) and, from 16:00pm -18:00pm, lend a hand to those less fortunate than yourself. As well asc beign a very rewarding experience, it is also a great way to gain volunteering hours for your Duke of Edinburgh Award and Caritas Award. I hope to see you there and remember that even helping one person could be helping an entire family, setting them back on track to a happy life.
Foodbank location: St. Matthews Presbytery, Grassyards Rd, Kilmarnock KA3 7SH
