‘IT' by Stephen King is a novel which focuses around a clown which can become your greatest fear. The 2017 screen adaption starred Bill Skarsgard, Finn Wolfhard, Sophia Lillis, Jaeden Lieberher, Jack Dylan Grazer, Wyatt Oleff, Chosen Jacobs and Jeremy Ray as the main cast. At the start of the movie, Bill's brother Georgie is killed by Pennywise, a clown which comes back every twenty seven years to terrorise and kill the children of a small town. The movie deals with a multitude of important issues such as parental abuse, bullying and phobias. At the end of the film, the children who dubbed themselves 'The Losers Club' after being bullied at school, defeat the clown once becoming unafraid of it as it no longer has anything to feed on. The movie is a horror, and lives up to the hype. It is captivating, funny and scary at the same time. It does have a lot of jump scares, and there are some scenes with parental abuse that could potentially be triggering, but overall the film combines wit and horror to create an interesting and fun watch. The acting is fantastic from all of the starring children and Bill Skarsgard's Pennywise is amazingly creepy. It is a film that I would highly recommend, especially for Hallowe'en.
