'My Shadow'

A Hallowe'en poem written by Michael Duff.

My shadow follows me around

Yet in night my shadow cannot be found.

Mimicking my every move

My shadow will not remove.

It is a shadow of fear

A shadow of hate

A shadow of doubt

Yet it can be great.

Watching with no eyes

Listening with no ears

My shadow uncovers all my fears.

I'm never truly alone.

When I'm with my darker clone

It stays with me in the light.

But in dark, lingers out of sight.

My shadow watches over me

Yet it may be my enemy

I will never know.
